Life Story for Robert Aguirre

Robert Aguirre
Robert James Aguirre, 74, of San Jacinto California, passed away peacefully at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center on Monday, April 30th. Bob was known for his strong personality, hard work, patriotism, and dedication to his family. Bob was adopted and raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming by John Batista Aguirre and Lucille Geraldine (Anderson) Aguirre. After High School, he attended Western Wyoming Community College, then joined the US Air Force, where he served our country for 26 years, working in Intelligence, then cross-training into Meteorology. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant, then later served as a Government Service Employee and civilian contractor. He traveled the world, spending time in Thailand and Japan before marrying Mary Caroline Williams on June 10, 1968. After his marriage, he continued living in the US and abroad with his wife and two children, Forrest and Joseph. They lived in Germany, the Philippines, Italy, England, and various regions of the United States. Bob also served a remote assignment in South Korea for a year.
Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions of responsibility within the church. He also gave time to Special Olympics and worked at an orphanage during his year-long stay in Korea. He was generous in giving to individuals and organizations for causes he believed in.
Bob was a dedicated husband and father who worked incredibly hard to support his family. He was very well-regarded in his work in the Air Force, receiving numerous medals of commendation and eliciting high praise from his commanding officers and from those who reported to him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his sons, Forrest and Joseph, daughter-in-law Natalie, grandchildren Issaka (Aguirre) Brellenthin, Kaiser Aguirre, Hayden Aguirre, and Oakleigh Aguirre, and great-grandson Owen Brellenthin. He will be buried, with honor, at Riverside National Cemetery
