Life Story for Ruben Abeytia Camargo

Ruben Abeytia Camargo
Ruben “PAPA” Camargo was born to Joe & Lydia Camargo on 2/11/1950 in Phoenix, AZ. The family later moved to California where he spent much of his life. He joined the us Army at 17 years old and served in Vietnam. Ruben worked for the Millwright Union and was an electrical contractor for 28 years. In 1981, he met his wife Charline (blessing in disguise) to love him and all of his children. Ruben had a lot of love to give that resulted in 12 children. He was a father to many, in which the name “UNCLE PAPA” was created. Always a hard working man and provider who pushed for education and success. Some of his past time hobbies were fishing and watching TV, old cowboy movies (ahh…the good ol’ days). His favorites were tacos, german chocolate cake, the color blue, the Yankees, Angels, Giants, dancing and story telling (“Did I ever tell you the time when I lived in Mexico??”) He had a lot of love in his heart. Everyone had their own nicknames, was given $2 bill and was known as “HIS BABY”. His grandchildren loved their PAPA and were very spoiled by him.

Ruben leaves behind his legacy in the memories created, being a great mentor, teacher & friend. He was a loyal father who built the foundation for the CAMARGO’S. Ruben is survived by his wife, sister Rosemary, children, 25 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will forever be loved, truly missed and carried in all of our hearts each and every day.
