Donald Funkhouser, 73 of Hemet, California passed away peacefully on Friday,
October 26, 2018, at his home in Hemet, California. Donald was born Thursday, March 1, 1945 in Elwood City, Pennsylvania, to George Robert and Mary (Smith) Funkhouser. In 1979 he married the love of his life, Nadene Funkhouser and shared the joy of raising four children. In his early years, Donald served as a police officer and a volunteer fire fighter in Oregon. He and his beautiful wife enjoyed spending time together in Maui. Donald also loved hunting and fishing. He sat on the board of the Hemet Traffic Commission, was an elder at Discovery Christian Church in Moreno Valley and enjoyed his time golfing with the 7 Hills Men’s Golf Club. Donald was a kind family man who loved spending time with his family, especially watching his 8 grandchildren participate in extracurricular activities and sports. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his sister, Judith Terry and leaves behind sons, Darren Funkhouser, Dean Funkhouser (Richele), Jeff Funkhouser (Deanna), daughter, Jennifer Funkhouser, brothers, Bob Funkhouser, Harold Funkhouser, and 8 amazing grandchildren. The family requests that donations may be made in his honor to the T.H.E. Center, Inc. (Therapeutic Horsemanship Equestrian Center, Inc.)
