For the family; I hope you find comfort in knowing your brother or uncle was really awesome to a lot of people. Deepest sympathy.
Victor was a spontaneous nature in so many things. He loved the road-trip and often let the road dictate his journey, but with personal strength in his direction. Walt Whitman said it this way;
“Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road, Healthy, free, the world before me, The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose…” ---- Song Of The Open Road, worth reading!
Many of us had the pleasure to road-trip with Victor. Across the Great Lakes from Frankfort to Charlevoix, Detroit, Sandusky, Cleveland, and Dunkirk. Up and down the East Coast from New York City to Boston to the Vineyard, Hyannis, and P-town, over to VABeach and Myrtle. The infamous sands of Florida from Daytona to Ft Lauderdale, St Pete and Sanibel, Miami, Islamorada, and of course Key West. Victor ended his days in California, but arrived by way of a cross-country trip later extending from Sacramento to Los Gatos, to Hermosa, Del Mar, Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada.
Victor had a way of making friends all along the way, so many of whom couldn’t keep up. For all those Vic met in his journey, I hope, like me, they can take just a little of his spirit and find joy in the spontaneity of the open road in the same way he did. Safe travels and a blessed goodbye to our friend. Vaya con Dios, mi amigo.
